Exports totalled 74.4 mln tn in the reported period (+2.3% year-on-year), followed by imports - 13.9 mln tn (+17.3% yoy), transit - 8.5 mln tn (+4.2% yoy), and cabotage - 1.1 mln tn (-71% yoy).
Among others, export traffic consisted of 29 mln tn of grains (+11.2% yoy), 15.5 mln tn of ores (-10.4% yoy), 10.1 mln tn of mining and metal products (-19.1% yoy), as well as 4.0 mln tn of vegetable oils (+35.1% yoy).
January-September 2017 import traffic included 3.8 mln tn of coal (+42.3% yoy) and 0.57 mln tn of oil products (+29.1% yoy).
Coal was also handled in transit traffic - a total of 3.2 mln tn (an increase by more than 100% yoy).
At the same time, the turnover of containers went down by 2.3% yoy to 433,000 TEU.
The Port of Yuzhny handled 31.7 mln tn over this year's first three quarters (+7.0% yoy), Odessa - 17.9 mln tn (-3.8% yoy), Nikolaev - 17.1 mln tn (+6.7% yoy), and Chernomorsk - 12.6 mln tn (+8.8% yoy).
