Exports of oil products via the Tuapse Sea Commercial Port (TSCP) decreased by 15.4% year-on-year to 5.4mt, while the turnover of dry bulk remained at the same level of 7.6mt.
However, both coal and grains contracted in their handlings, by 14.7% yoy and 8.5% yoy, respectively, to 2.62mt and 1.97mt.
"The decrease should be primarily attributed to reduction of cargoes delivered to the port by railway due to more intense passenger traffic on the North Caucasus Railway in summer period, emergency situation caused by the flood in the Tuapse District in October and repair of a tunnel on the Belorechensk-Tuapse rail line in November-December 2018," a press release from the TSCP explained what stood behind the overall decrease.
At the same time, the throughput of ferrous metals marked a new all-time high of 2.94mt (+18% yoy).
The volume of produce (fruits and vegetables) doubled, totalling 80kt.
