Rostock seaport: 283,546 ro-ro cargo units handled in H1 2018 (+6.9% yoy)

In terms of tonnage, Rostock's wheeled traffic rose by 8.7% year-on-year over 2018's first half, up to 8.7mt.

Out of the total, the number of trucks amounted to 210,098 units (+9.5% yoy), trailers - 65,446 (-0.6% yoy), and railcars - 8,002 (+7.6% yoy).

Rostock's intermodal terminal handled 38,695 units, down by 10.1% yoy.

In total, the seaport made 13mt in H1 2018, less by 5.8% on the result from the corresponding period last year. The dry bulk segment lost one-fourth of its handlings, down to 3mt. Liquids contracted by 21.5% yoy to 1.1mt, while break-bulk by 18.8% yoy to 268kt.

On the other hand, ferry traffic to/from Rostock noted an uptick of 5% yoy, up to 1.05m travellers.
