The Belgian seaport noted in the biggest handling increase of 93% year-on-year in the liquid bulk segment, which totalled 4.83mt (out of which liquefied natural gas accounted for 3.22mt).
With 8.40mt (+5% yoy), wheeled (ro-ro) traffic topped Zeebrugge's cargo turnover, followed by 7.55mt of containerised freight (-2.2% yoy), 619kt of dry bulk (-5% yoy), and 481.4kt of break-bulk (-10.3% yoy).
The port also handled a total of 1,527,872 new cars (+4.9% yoy).
Zeebrugge served as many as 71 cruise ship calls (337,559 guests), 12 more than in the corresponding period of 2018.
