Port of Gioia Tauro: 571,489 TEUs handled in Q1 2018 (-14.1% yoy)

After a 12.8% year-on-year drop in 2017, down to a total of almost 2.4m TEUs, the Italian seaport continues to lose volumes also this year.

Container handling operations at Gioia Tauro are performed by CONTSHIP Italia, part of the EUROKAI Group, which is also present in four other Italian ports - La Spezia, Salerno, Cagliari, and Ravenna. Overall, 1,077,711 TEUs were handled by CONTSHIP Italia over the course of 2018's first quarter (-13.3% yoy).
