Cefetra's grain vessel Peak Dublin will be the first one to make a call to Dover's recently set up multipurpose terminal.
"What better way to christen our fantastic brand new facility than with a brand new customer. Cefetra's arrival delivers a real sign of confidence in Dover and the new opportunities we have to offer customers across a range of markets. I am delighted to welcome Cefetra to Dover and look forward to developing a successful partnership in the months and years ahead," Nik Scott-Gray, General Manager, Port of Dover Cargo, commented.
Andrew Mackay, CEO, Cefetra, added, "We are pleased that Dover have developed a new multi-purpose cargo terminal and that Cefetra will be loading the first vessel through the facility. Our new Kent office opened in August and we are confident that this will be the first vessel of many that we will load in Dover as we open up new markets for the produce of the farmers of Kent."
The new facility - able to take care of various general cargo goods, including containers, wheeled (ro-ro) freight, produce, and project cargo, as well as grains - is part of the Port of Dover's £250m-big Dover Western Docks Revival development project.
Cefetra, a company within the German multinational BayWa group, specialises in serving the UK and Ireland grain and animal feed raw materials markets.
