Port of Barcelona: 28.6 mln tn handled in H1 2017 (+18.0% yoy)

Within the reported period the Spanish port handled as much as 1,365,711 TEU (+27.2% year-on-year).

For the first time since 2007 the number of imported containers (276,529 TEU) exceeded the pre-crisis H1 2017 record of 272,138 twenty-foot boxes.

Liquids are the second type of cargo that has grown the most, reaching 6.66 mln tn (+10.9% yoy), with LNG noting sharpest increase of 1.72 mln tn (+32.5% yoy).

Ro-ro traffic also went up - by 6.9% yoy to 199,906 units.

Passenger traffic totalled 1.57 million travellers (+5.3% yoy).
