This new train service will connect the Port of Genoa with the Piacenza logistics hub, a major industrial area encompassing the regions of Lombardia, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto, operated in cooperation with GTS.
The three weekly departures, with a capacity of 52 TEUs per leg, are synchronized with the arrivals and departures of the group's vessels, providing a connection to its deep-sea services, including AMERIGO (Mediterranean – North America East Coast), MEX (Mediterranean Sea – Middle East/India), NEMO (North Europe – Mediterranean Sea – Australia – South Asia – Indian Sub-Continent) and SIRIUS (East Coast South America – West Mediterranean). Clients will gain access to 1.7k door locations in the regions mentioned earlier.
The rail shuttle service also contributes to CMA CGM's efforts to minimize its clients carbon impact and reliable, intermodal end-to-end transport solutions, which benefit from being less dependent on road congestion.
