The agreement signed between European Investment Bank (EIB), Société Générale, and Brittany Ferries, provides € 49.5m for constructing a newbuild.
The money will allow Brittany Ferries to build a new, dual-fuel ferry, to be operational in mid-2019. The ship will be 185m long, able to accommodate 1,680 passengers and offer 2,600 lane metres of cargo capacity.
The vessel will be sailing between Caen and Portsmouth.
