Portsmouth gets a new crane

MMD Shipping has recently acquired a Gottwald mobile harbour crane from Konecranes for GBP 2.1 mln.

The machinery is a two-rope model six crane in the G HMK 6507 variant, with a maximum lifting capacity of 125 tn, and a maximum outreach of 51 m. As such it is MMD's biggest mobile harbour crane. 

The new equipment was put into operation at the end of May.

"Continued investment and improvements will help Portsmouth International Port maintain its status as a key destination for imports of fresh produce from all over the world," Mike Sellers, Port Director at Portsmouth International Port, said.
