Description:

The 15 m deep Port of Naples lies in the Western Italy at the Tyrrhenian Sea, offering 70 mooring places across a total of 11.5 km of quays.

There are seven main terminals in Naples port serving freight traffic, of which two handle lo-lo vessels (477,020 TEU in 2013), one ro-ro cargo, two are for timber and cellulose and another two for cereals.

The port authority's 'Three-year Operational Plan' (TOP) is focused on developing the Eastern Wet Dock in order for it to handle approx. 800,000 TEU per year in the near future and to boost the container traffic even further to over 1.4 mln TEU by 2020.
