The electric rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs) - stacking ten containers and a truck lane wide and one over six containers high - are scheduled for delivery to Uruguay's Port of Montevideo, where Montecon operates, in early 2021.
The machines, Liebherr's first RTGs in Uruguay, will feature a number of additional solutions, including BTG Autosteering, stack and gantry anti-collision and truck anti-lift systems, an active front end and a CRD electric power supply, and embedded fibre communications.
Ray Cronin, Liebherr's Area Sale Manager for the Americas, added to this list, ''[…] The inherent value found in the Liebherr design including Liebherr's eight-rope reeving, simultaneous drive motion and the stiff and lightweight design provided an exceptional foundation on which to build these modern, safe and environmentally friendly machines.''
The new gantries will join Montecon's fleet of seven Liebherr mobile harbour cranes.
