Auto Transport Service (ATS), based in Norway, decided to phase in INFORM's end-to-end IT solution for the management of its vehicle compounds, workshops and transport. The system will control and intelligently plan all operations from vehicle storage to preparation and distribution, with increased transparency and efficiency in mind.
Over 50k vehicles arrive each year at the Port of Drammen, where ATS operates two vehicle yards, making it one of the biggest vehicle logistics services providers in Norway. The finished vehicles are then transported by truck, train or vessel to the various ATS compounds or car dealers across the country. Speed and punctuality are key and INFORM's solution, enabling real-time visibility of all vehicles throughout the whole supply chain, will help with that. The system achieves the above by synchronizing all of the processes and enhancing them by digital decision making.
Benedicte Markveien, Managing Director, ATS, said, "We were looking for a system which could manage all our processes within yards and workshops, like efficient parking allocation, location tracking, movements, equipment checks, damage inspections, and technical modifications. The decision for INFORM was made during a reference visit to National Vehicle Distribution (NVD) in Ireland, where we were able to confirm that the entire system is working excellently in action […]."
ATS expects the solution to go live before the end of 2020.
