Glencore Agricultural UK signed a three-year deal with the British port operator to use Teesport as northern distribution hub.
Nowadays Glencore is also importing agro bulk to the north through Teesport, but its imports will serve the prime livestock producing centres of the UK.
The imported animal feed products will be stored at the port providing Glencore with approx. 7,432 m2 of storage capacity before being distributed to customers nationwide (i.a. across Yorkshire, Humberside, the North of England, and Southern Scotland).
Glencore's new agro bulk terminal operates from Teesport's redeveloped deep water quay. Offering depths of up to 14.5 m, Teesport welcomed Adriana Rose in November carrying 54,000 tn of soya feed products from Argentina, and a further 50,000 tn of agro bulk product arriving this year, with more expected in the coming months.
