Disney Cruise Line has ordered an LNG-powered vessel in the German shipyard in Papenburg, following last year's purchase of two cruisers.
The scheduled completion dates of the two ships is 2021 and 2023, while the newest will be built till 2022.
All vessels names, design plans and itineraries are still in development; the three new ships will have the same propulsion – LNG, and will be of the same size – approx. GT 135 thou. with about 1,250 guest staterooms planned.
"We decided two ships wouldn't be enough to hold all of the exciting new experiences we have been dreaming up to take family cruise vacations to a whole new level with immersive Disney storytelling, world-class family entertainment, and imaginative innovations that are fantastically fun and uniquely Disney. By the time all three new ships are sailing, we’ll have nearly doubled the size of our existing fleet," Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, said.
