With 20.57 mln tn (+6.2% year-on-year), the turnover of liquids accounted for over half of Le Havre, Rouen, and Paris ports' total throughput over this year's first six months.
Containerised freight advanced as well in the reported period - by 12.4% yoy to 12.24 mln tn. The three French ports handled a total of 1,187 thou. TEU (+7.8% yoy).
Other general cargo, such as ferry, vehicles and break-bulk, rose altogether by 2.8% yoy to 1.17 mln tn.
On the other hand, handlings of dry bulk contracted by 29.0% yoy to 4.57 mln tn, out of which grains amounted to 2.17 mln tn (-52.1% yoy).
HAROPA's cruise passenger traffic is on the rise, having advanced by 52% yoy to 166,500 travellers over 2017's first half. Out of the total number, 154,000 visited Le Havre (+56% yoy), and the remaining 12,500 Rouen (+13% yoy).
