The ro-paxes Kaunas Seaways and Vilnius Seaways have been bought by Ukrferry, which has been chartering them for its Black Sea traffic for several years.
The Odessa-headquartered shipping company will take over the ships in July.
The sale will affect the employment of around 70 crew members. DFDS says that it will seek to employ them in its own route network to the greatest possible extent.
The sale of the ferries is expected to entail a profit of around DKK20m (approx. €2.7m).
